And I’m a jerk that doesn’t really care about the difference… but I will concede that yes, there’s a difference between going out of your way to bash, and choosing not to support. That being said, both are awful and do no good whatsoever.

Nodnod, I agree with the do no good. I don’t really know if awful is the word I’d use? If only because I think it’s too harsh, I suppose.

Not supporting homosexuality may not be as obvious a denial of civil rights as outright protesting, but I do think that they both fall under homophobia. Unless you didn’t really want to discuss this, in which case we can just agree to disagree.
On further thought, I suppose what I would add to this is… you can fight the homophobic bashers, whereas you can try and talk sense into the religiously/morally opposed individuals? I have no tolerance for it, but I see where you’re coming from.
But the problem with that is you can’t talk sense into a lot of these people. I think your best bet is to show them differently but I guess I can’t be the all knower on this because I don’t have proof or experience with it or anything. At least not beyond my mom, this is all just optimism in mankind.
